Castoro de Oro Heart of Gold

A perfect white blend brings together Pinot Blanc, Vidal, Siegfried and Viognier. It exhibits a wide variety of fruit flavours, with a slight cotton candy note on the end. I tried it as a wine in the Can.

Sandhill - Terroir Driven 2021 Sovereign Opal

A very good wine light and freshing with flavours of tropical fruit, melon, and gooseberry. Lovely notes tropical fruit, pink grapefruit, lychee nut, and white peach linger on the off-dry finish.95

Seaside Pearl Estate Winery - Petite Milo 2021

A small winery in the the Mt Lehman area of Abbotsford, owned by Allison and David Zimmerman. The name comes from a pearl and gift shop Allison once owned on the White Rock beach.

I have been enjoying their Petite Milo since they opened in 2017.

A very nice wine/ Its light and full of flavours. The 2020 is also a good vintage.

Perhaps the best Petite Milo I have enjoyed in the past three years. It is clean and fresh with honey and citrus notes on the palette, finishing with tropical aromas of guava and pineapple. 95

Planters Ridge Tidal 2021

Once in a while we are lucky to be able to enjoy a Nova Scotia wine.

Planters Ridge Winery opened in 2013 after two successful harvests.  The name Planters Ridge was selected to reflect the history of the land the winery is situated on.  The land is part of the original New England Planters Land Grant from 1760, offered by the Lieutenant Governor after the Acadian expulsion.  In 2010, owners John McLarty and Lisa Law purchased the property from a seventh generation Woodworth family, who were original New England Planters.

A perfect blend of  L'Acadie Blanc, Frontenac Blanc, Frontenac Gris, Seyval, NY Muscat & Chardonnay. It has aromas of apple blossom, peach and honeydew melon. A perfect finish! 95

One of the best Sparking Wines I have enjoyed this year. It has light floral aromatics with flavours of peach and pear! 95

Church and State Blanc de Blancs

The 2018 Blanc de Blancs spent 30 months on the lees at sparkling wine house in Brentwood Bay. The fruit for this wine comes from the Détente vineyard on the Black Sage Bench. A terroir that ripens Chardonnay perfectly for this method of wine making. It begins with nice lemon note sand soft flowers. The bubbles are light, providing a freshness on the palette. 94

 

Church and State 2018 Syrah

This award winning wine is bold; it is also very dry. The nose presents  eucalyptus, mint and red peppers. On the  palate expresses notes of cranberries, green peppercorns and red currants. 94
