I was a little surprised when I did a search to see how many songs there were about wine.. Among the song writers to mention wine Abba, Beatles, Gilbert and Sullivan, Neil Diamond. and the Grateful Dead. There are over hundred songs that mention wine.

Hey Brother Pour the Wine

Here we sit enjoying the shade
Hey brother, pour the wine
Drink the drink that I have made
Hey brother, pour the wine

Tell you why the day is sunny
I'm in love with lips of honey
Wait 'til you see the way she walks
Hey brother, pour the wine

She is coming here to stay
Hey brother, pour the wine
I have waited for the day
Hey brother, pour the wine

She writes of love in every letter
Others have tried but I will get her
Wait 'til you see the way she walks
Hey brother, pour the wine

What is life? What is spring?
What are all the stars that shine?
Love, my friend is everything
And love will soon be mine

Pour it as quickly as you can
Hey brother, pour the wine
Pour it quickly once again
Hey brother, pour the wine

She's here at last my one and only
Goodbye friends and don't be lonely
Wait 'til you see the way she walks
Hey brother, pour the wine

Blink your eyes and love has passed
Hey brother, pour the wine
Her's was never made to last
Hey brother, pour the wine

She introduced me to another
No my friends, he's not her brother
I will miss the way she walks
Hey brother, pour the wine

Pour the wine, pour the wine
Hey brother, pour the wine
Pour the wine

Joy to the World by Three Dog Night
"Jeremiah was a bull frog.
Was a good friend of mine.
Never understood a single word he said,
but he always had some mighty fine wine."

Just One More by George Jones
"Well, One More Drink of Wine
Then if you're Still on my Mind
One Drink, Just One More and then Another"

Scenes from an Italian Restaurant by Billy Joel
"A bottle of white, a bottle of red,
Perhaps a bottle of rosé instead.
We'll get a table near the street
In our old familiar place"

With some good red wine and my brand new shoes
Gonna dance up a blue streak around my living room
Take a chance on love and try how it feels

Get Down

Told you once before
And I won't tell you no more
Get down, get down, get down
You're a bad dog, baby
But I still want you 'round

You give me the creeps
When you jump on your feet
So get down, get down, get down
Keep your hands to yourself
I'm strictly out of bounds

Once upon a time I drank a little wine
Was as happy as could be, happy as could be
Now I'm just like a cat on a hot tin roof
Baby what do you think you're doin' to me

Told you once before
And I won't tell you no more
So get down, get down, get down
You're a bad dog, baby

But I still want you 'round, around
I still want you around, aye, aye, aye

I don't give a damn
And I'd like you if you can to
Get down, get down, get down
You're bad dog, baby
But I still want you 'round

Once upon a time I drank a little wine
Was as happy as could be, happy as could be
Now I'm just like a cat on a hot tin roof
Baby, what do you think you're doin' to me

Told you once before
And I won't tell you no more
So get down, get down, get down
You're a bad dog, baby
But I still want you 'round, around

Little Ole Wine Drinker Me

I'm prayin' for rain in California,
So the grapes can grow and they can make more wine,
And I'm sittin' in a honky in Chicago,
With a broken heart and a woman on my mind.

I matched the man behind the bar for the jukebox,
And the music takes me back to Tennessee,
When they ask who's the fool in the corner, crying,
I say, that little ole wine drinker me.

I came here last week from down in Nashville,
'Cause my baby left for Florida on a train.
I thought I'd get a job and just forget her,
But in Chicago a broken heart is still the same.

I matched the man behind the bar for the jukebox,
And the music takes me back to Tennessee.
When they ask who's the fool in the corner, crying,
I say that little ole wine drinker me.
I say that little ole wine drinker me.

I want to be in Love
In front of total strangers, won't you kiss me?
Flowers for no reason but you miss me, oh, I want to be in love
On Tuesday light the candles bring me wine
Wednesday morning, I won't get to work on time, oh, I want to be in love

"Red, Red Wine" Neil Diamond

Red, red wine
Go to my head
Make me forget that I
Still need her so

Red, red wine
It's up to you
All I can do, I've done
But memories won't go
No, memories won't go

I'd have sworn that with time
Thoughts of you would leave my head
I was wrong, and I find
Just one thing makes me forget

Red, red wine
Stay close to me
Don't let me be alone
It's tearing apart
My blue, blue heart

I'd have sworn that with time
Thoughts of you would leave my head
I was wrong, and I find
Just one thing makes me forget

Red, red wine
Stay close to me
Don't let me be alone
It's tearing apart
My blue, blue heart

The Day of Wine and Roses

The days of wine and roses laugh and run away like a child at play
Through the meadow land toward a closing door
A door marked "Nevermore", that wasn't there before

The lonely night discloses, just a passing breeze filled with memories
Of the golden smile that introduced me to
The days of wine and roses and you

When I'm 64 by The Beatles
"When I get older losing my hair, Many years from now
Will you still be sending me a valentine, Birthday greetings, bottle of wine?"

Tiny Bubbles by Don Ho
This song falls into that cheesy 1960's innocent party music your parents had on vinyl. Unfortunately, it's probably the most famous song about Champagne. Tiny Bubbles

Words & music by Leon Pober

Tiny bubbles (tiny bubbles)
In the wine (in the wine)
Make me happy (make me happy)
Make me feel fine (make me feel fine)

Tiny bubbles (tiny bubbles)
Make me warm all over
With a feeling that I'm gonna
Love you till the end of time

So here's to the golden moon
And here's to the silver sea
And mostly here's a toast
To you and me

So here's to the ginger lei
I give to you today
And here's a kiss
That will not fade away
