Meadow Vista Honey Farm

Meadow Vista Honey Wines is located in East Kelowna, BC on a five and a half acre farm, nestled amongst the orchards of East Kelowna. In partnership with our beekeepers, the farm is home to 150 hives of hardworking honeybees. The hives spend time on our farm as well as other local farms, providing important local pollination while gathering sweet nectar to make honey.

I have to admit I got lost when trying to find the meadery. Once there I was extremely impressed not only by the meads but the one of the owners are Emily. Emily Vanderschee and her sister Electra Logan are the owners. Electra is also a beekeeper. Head Meadmaker is Andrew Durrant.

I was guided through my tasting experience by the very charming Emily. I learned that she and her sister had been employees at the meadery founded by Judie Barata. They bough had a strong passion and love for the bees and the business they came up with a plan to buy Meadow Vista.

Emily has been in the Food and Beverage industry for over 25 years. With multiple years in making wine menus and a number of years working in wineries, she had a passion for wine but wanted to do something just a little different in the beverage industry! She has found her dream in the Meadery, with its focus on sustainability and endless possibilities!

Emily started of with their Cloud Horse award winning traditional style mead, It was light and smooth and full of honey flavours with hints of wildflowers. Wow!

Next came the Bliss Cherry Another fine wine bursting with flavour. This was followed by Bliss Blueberry . Here the key addition is Haskap Berries. Haskap berries are an excellent source of antioxidants, Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Fibre and Potassium

Rubus Wow - A dark and rich melomel style, Rubus gets its deep colour from juicy, ripe blackberries

Mabon is a metheglin style mead made by fermenting BC honey with spices. Warm and spicy, this award-winning mead balances just the right amount of cinnamon, cardamom, coriander, nutmeg, and clove with farm honey. A truly amazing mead!

Another amazing wine is the Ostara A sweet wine with outstanding flavours. from Apricot pineapple and of course honey.

You must visit this winery for its mead Its hospitality. Its passionate owners.
