Thirty Bench Wine Makers

Beamsville, ON Thirty Bench winery is in the heart of the Beamsville Bench in the Niagara Peninsula, a unique enclave that has proven to be one of the finest wine-growing regions in the northern hemisphere.

The winery had humble beginnings starting as a partnership in the late 1970's to grow grapes. In 1980 it expanded to 39 acres. Under the direction of Tom Muckle and Deborah Paskas their first wine (an icewine) was produced in 1992.

In the early years they sold their grapes to other wineries until 1994 when they established their winery.

Today the winery is owned by Andrew Peller Limited and focus on Riesling . They won Best Small Winery of the Year at WineAlign's National Wine Awards of Canada 2015! Emma Garner was winemaker of the year 2015.

The less-is-more approach at Thirty Bench extends far beyond the vineyard. Our commitment to “Small Lot” winemaking means many of our wines are made in extremely limited numbers. We want to do our very best and we believe we can do it only if we have complete control of the entire winemaking process.

In the 2022 All Canadian Championships they were awarded the Best White Wine of the Year for their 2019  Small Lot Riesling Triangle Vineyard. The 2019   Small Lot Riesling Wild Cask won Gold as did  2020 Winemaker’s Blend Riesling .

They continued be award Gold with the  2021  Winemaker’s Blend Rosé   as did  2020   Winemaker’s Blend Cabernet Franc

2019 Small Lot Riesling Wood Post Vineyard won silver. Their 2020  Small Lot Chardonnay  won a bronze.

In Ontario although it presents a challenge icewine and late harvest wines are very popular. Thirty Bench won Gold for their 2019   Special Select Late Harvest
