Arrowleaaf Cellars Bacchus

Arrowleaf is a family owned and operated winery in Lake Country, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. Josef and Margrit Zuppiger and their family moved to their north Okanagan vineyard in 1996. Their son Manuel is now the winemaker.

They are one of just a handful of wineries to make a Zweight. Their 2017 recieved excellent reviews.

They also make a very good Bacchus. Another wine seldom produced in BC. I was quite please to find a 2018 on the shelf at the local wine store. I grapped the bottle.

Bacchus: is a white wine grape that was created by viticulturalist Peter Morio at the Geilweilerhof Institute for Grape Breeding in the Palatinate in 1933. He crossed a Silvaner x Riesling cross with Müller-Thurgau .Bacchus received varietal protection and was released for general cultivation in 1972.

Arrowleaf's Bacchus starts with a nice fruity aroma on the nose. This slightly dry wine follows with notes of lemon and grapefruit.

The wine is delicious on its own or serve with salads, grilled vegetables, chicken or seafood.
