The name, Keint-he Winery & Vineyards, is derived from a native
word. Keint-he was the name of one of the four Seneca villages in this part
of eastern Ontario. The Senecas were one of the five tribes of the Iroquois
the word Keint-he was later anglicized into, Quinte and used in English
names such as, the Bay of Quinte.

Bryan Rodgers - Keint -he Vineyards
The winery is owned by the Rogers family, who have been deeply involved in its operations since its founding in 2007. Ron Rogers, a retired banker, and Bryan Rogers—are the principal owners of Keint-He Winery.
After obtaining masters degrees in both the sciences and the arts, Bryan worked in the media and film industries before tackling his role as general manager at Keint-he.

Ron is a retired banker with over 35 years experience in the financial sector. Ron has had a passion for wine his whole life. After retiring he wanted to cross apply his business skills in an entirely different arena. Due to his love of premium wine; viticulture and oenology seemed a natural fit.

Greg Yemen
Greg Yemen brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of Ontario’s unique terroir to his role. He is known for crafting wines that reflect the limestone-rich soils and cool climate of Prince Edward County, with a particular focus on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the varietals most associated with Burgundy and best suited to the region.

Connor Val Tol
Assistant winemaker Connor was born in Kelowna and raised in Niagara. His interest in wine was inevitable. At the age of 17, while still a student, he got his first job in the wine industry … polishing glasses for the tasting bar at a winery. Shortly afterwards, he knew that he wanted to pursue a career in wine. He has since worked in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Lake Erie North Shore, and finally Prince Edward County. Connor brings with him his Wine and Viticulture diploma from Niagara College and a passion for Ontario wine.

Laura Pemberthy
In 2019 Laura joined the team at Keint-he as our in-house Sommelier.
Laura has been working in the wine industry for decades. In 2002 she completed her Level 3 Sommelier accreditation through IWEG. From there, Laura headed to Australia, where she gained valuable experience working both in the vineyard and the cellar at a number of different wineries. In 2003 Laura returned to Canada and worked aboard The Queen Elizabeth II, a luxury, transatlantic capable, cruise ship. Laura was hired as the Sommelier for the ship’s 5-star restaurant. Despite being seasick for the duration of her contract, Laura embraced the opportunity to visit and experience as many old-world wine regions as she could.
For the next 10-years, while in the Niagara wine region, Laura exposed took on a variety of hospitality and winery based rolls. Always looking for new experiences, in 2018 Laura moved to the rapidly growing wine region of Prince Edward County. Laura quickly developed and interest in the regions terroir and the wines they produced. . Her unconventional approach to wine tasting makes for a unique and insightful experience.
