The Trip 2015

Sperling Vineyards

We just had to stop in at Sperling Vineyards with its rich and interesting history. Sperling can traces its roots back to Father Charles Pandosy who introduced Giovanni Casorzo to the Okanagan. His son Charles planted the first vineyards in the Kelowna area in 1925. His sons Louis and Peter later planed what became Sperling vineyards. Ann Sperling grew up here and is now the winemaker.

Connected to the winery is the Pioneer Country Market Homemade lunches, fresh baking, gourmet take-away, hearty soups, pickles and preserves, fruit pies and much more. We-had our lunch here prior to tasting their wines.

A charming young lady by the name of Kim was our tasting host. From the very good Market White to the Old Vines Riesling the wines just kept getting better. The Old Vine Foch outstanding and then the Late Harvest Gewürztraminer 2011 !! An excellent cellar of whites. Thanks Kim for all you did it was fun.
