The Trip 2015

La Stella Estate Winery

After a comfortable nights sleep and very nice breakfast at the Coast Hotel in Osoyoos we began or first full day in the Okanagan. I dropped off Barbara in the shopping district and headed down the highway to La Stella.

LaStella's impressive architecture – including the main building with tower, a patio, wine shop and tasting room – features Venetian hand-blown light fixtures, Italian herringbone tile, and antique furniture, and a rare blue granite bar top that fairly glows with its satiny natural hue of navy blue. It is the only waterfront winery in Osoyoos with a dock designed for visitors.

The first thing I did was climb and the tower and take a 30 plus photographs. A brilliant view of Lake Osoyoos.

La Stella Estate Winery

I had the please of having Mike Kosaka Operations Manager for Enotecca Wineries and Resorts guide me through a tasting. Mike does an excellent presentation going the wineries

LaStella was created to capture our vision of la dolce vita: fine food, wonderful wine, great music, and the good things in life. At LaStella, we celebrate the sun that ripens our grapes and brings warmth to our life, and we share that with everyone who visits us.

We started with the 2014 Leggiero Un-Oaked Chardonnay an excellent wine great aromas and flavours that bit the tongue. this was followed by the 2014 Vivace Pinot Grigio so good. Next came the LaStellina a Rosato an interesting wine with personality and elegance. 2014 Lastellina is comprised of bleeding of the juice of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Sangiovese

The wines just kept getting better. 2013 Fortissimo a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese Grosso. Too bad Barbara you would have liked this one. But the next wine oh what you missed ! 2012 Allegretto .
