Winemaker Hans
Nevrkla promised me a day of hard work pulling weeds in the vineyard.
It did
not of course turn out that way.
We did some work ,surveying the land for what may be a new picnic area over looking the vineyards and the valley below .
We also took time to taste the new vintage
direct from the tanks.
After another brief attempted at work we
were back in the winery greeting new customers and tasting wine.
The tasting's included
Larch Hills' Tamarack Rosé 2000 which won a prestigious Gold
Medal, with special “Superlative” recognition at the N.W. Wine Summit
. The Tamarack Rosé also won Silver at the All-Canadian Championships, held in Ontario May 11 & 12, and at the Okanagan Wine Festival Spring Best of Varietal Judging .
Larch Hill is best known for its Ortega.
