Okanagan Falls, BC V0H 1R0

Perched high on a rolling hillside that cascades into Skaha Lake, this is undoubtedly one of the most majestic vineyard
sites in the valley. Blasted Church is owned by Chris and Evelyn Campbell. The winery selected its name from the history of the land.
the winery was built where there once stood a church. The citizens of Okanagan Falls wanted to dismantled the Church and bring it closer
to town. The church was blasted with dynamite sticks inside in order to "loosen the nails".
The wineries label design concept is one of the most talked about and successful adventures in the wine industry.

Blue Mountain Vineyard
RR1, S3, C4,
Okanagan Falls, BC V0H 1R0
|
|
Blue Mountain Vineyard is located next to a bird sanctuary and wilderness area overlooking beautiful Vaseux Lake.
The Mavety family produces a limited quantity of superb wines, using traditional winemaking methods. Winemaker Ian Mavety's goal is to
produce wines of quality and style that compliment the emerging Northwest Cuisine.
The Mavetys were among the pioneers Okanagan having the fortune to acquire a site where they believed the geographic factors came
together better than anywhere else in the valley. Named for the hazy blue mountains that frame the vineyards, the foundations for
Blue Mountain were thus established in 1971. Blue Mountain is a true family operation. The winery is worked by Ian's wife Jane,
daughter Christie and son Matt.
The wine shop and tasting room is housed in a magnificent stone brick building. Tours are by appointment.
Winemaker Matt Mavety
Philosophy:wine-making begins in the vineyard. Years of gained knowledge in how to adapt
to annual weather changes and produce fruit of similar character and concentration annually is how he achieves the highest level
of consistency and quality in the wine.

Burrowing Owl Estate Winery

Oliver, BC V0H 1T0
|
|
Located on the prestigious Black Sage Road near Oliver, British Columbia, Burrowing Owl Estate Winery is one of Canada's newer
wineries with a growing reputation for producing premium wines of exceptional quality. Their wines have already been amply rewarded with top
honours including Canadian Wine of the Year, Best Canadian Red Wine, Best Canadian Cabernet Sauvignon, The Lieutenant Governor?s Award of
Excellence and internationally, their Meritage has twice won Best of Class.
Jim and Midge Wyse selected their location based on the Canadian
Grape Atlas (Ag Canada 1984), which identified this area as the best grape
growing region in the country. Being nature lovers and with a vineyard surrounded
by a wildlife preserve that in the past has protected the endangered burrowing
owl, the naming of the winery was easy.
According to proprietor Jim Wyse, the winery at Burrowing Owl Vineyards is among the world's most modern. It was designed to
use gravity flow and cool, temperature-controlled underground caves for fermentation and barrel aging.
Burrowing Owl opened a fine dining restaurant in 2003 The Sonora
Room, which is open daily for lunch and dinner from Easter to Thanksgiving.
A current expansion project completed the final phase of development, a new
and enlarged wine shop and a 10-room guesthouse, opened in spring/summer of
2006.
Philosophy: To create the finest wines in Canada, using classic techniques aided by the flow of
gravity, extensive underground barrel cellars and ecologically sound viticulture practices.

Chandra Estate Winery
RR1 Site 62, Comp. 22
Oliver, BC V0H 1T0
|
|
Owner Dave Dhillon chose the name Chandra as a reflection of his winemaking philosophy and culture. Its meaning is twofold. Chandra, derived
from the Hindi language, (the ‘a' is pronounced as a short vowel ‘u') means ‘moon god'. From a spiritual perspective, ancient Hindu myth
states that the moon stores Soma (an ancient drink and lunar deity), which was said to be the elixir of immortality consumed by the gods
themselves. The moon is said to wane because the gods are drinking away some of its properties and, wax when the gods are not.
Situated on 10 acres of land on Oliver's historic ‘Golden Mile', family owned and operated, Ecovitis Vineyard
and Chandra Estate Winery officially opened its doors on September 3, 2008 . Half of the acreage had been planted 12 years ago
with Merlot, Pinot Noir, Blaufrankisch, and Chardonnay varietals, so the vineyard was in its maturity stages; however, the other
5 remained barren. Given the Okanagan's favourable terroir and climate, Chandra imported Malbec and Sauvignon Blanc varietals from
France and planted the other five.
Chandra Estate Winery and Ecovitis Vineyard Ltd. is a family
owned and operated winery committed to excellence an environmental sustainability.
Signature wines are Chardonnay, Red Fusion, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir
Rose, Merlot, Pinot Blanc
Winemakers: Allan Marcus and Josh Scott
Philosophy: Great wines begin with the land, which is why our vineyards are certified organic. Knowing that
conventional agricultural practices have stripped the soil of vital minerals, we grow grapes the way nature intended—free from insecticides,
fumigants, and herbicides.

Church and States Coyote Bowl Vineyard was chosen for rich soil,
fantastic exposure to the Western sun, and on the prestigious Black Sage Bench – one
of Canada’s most sought after wine producing locations.
Kim Pullen purchased
Victoria Estate Winery in 2004 and began sourcing grapes from the Okanagan
Valley. Upon changing the name to Church & State wine
that year, it began a transformation into a winery dedicated to producing the
highest-caliber wines possible from BC fruit, starting with pouring out 20,000
cases of wine produced prior to his purchase that didn’t meet our rigorous
quality demands. By 2009, production had moved to Oliver, BC, and construction
of a new winery on Coyote Bowl Vineyard began. Now, Church & State farms
100 acres, in both Oliver and Brentwood Bay to produce only ten to twelve thousand
cases annually, with two locations open to the public: Coyote Bowl on the Black
Sage Bench, and Brentwood Bay near Butchart Gardens.
They have
100 acres - Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Malbec,
Pinot Gris, Riesling, Chardonnay-Musque, Marsanne, Roussanne, and Viognier Production
ranges from 10,000-12,000 cases/year

Wine Championships), a full 5-varietal Bordeaux blend featuring Cab Sauv, Cab
Franc, Malbec, Merlot, and Petit Verdot
Winemaker: Jeff Del Nin , Consultant : Bill

Philosophy: To produce the best possible wines from exclusively
BC grapes, through a belief in handcrafted quality, attention to detail and
the highest standards we can achieve through teamwork, patience and dedication,
both in the vineyards, and the cellar.

Gehringer Brothers Estate Winery

Oliver, BC V0H 1T0
|
|
Gehringer Brothers' dream of an estate winery was conceived in the year 1973. After high school, Walter Gehringer went to
West Germany. There he acquired their fine wine-making skills. After five years he graduated from the world renowned University of Geisenheim
with an engineering degree in viticulture and oceanology. His brother Gordon also spent four years in West Germany acquiring the wine master's
art, graduating with a degree from Weinsberg. The present buildings were built in 1985 the same year as their first vintage.
Their labels include Dry Rock Vineyards and Optimum .
Winemakers: Walter and Gordon Gehringer:
Philosophy: In the fall the grapes are pressed and
a portion of the juice is stored fresh and fermented. Before bottling in the
spring,we blend the unfermented juice which has retained its rich flavor, back
into the dry wine. This results in the varietal fruit flavours components being
combined with the developed wine, yielding a complex full-bodied wine.

Bruno Kelle and Stella Schmidt believe they found a diamond in the rough when they located their winery on the Golden Mile south of Oliver.
The couple fell in love with the wine region while touring the area in 2005. When Bruno was asked if he was interested in purchasing anything
he responded by saying “Yes, your winery” The very nice lady informed him that it wasn't for sale but that another winery was. At that point
it was just a joke but they did go look at the winery for sale. By the time their mini vacation was over they we were excitedly discussing the
possibilities and potential of being winery owners. They continued to pursue the idea and soon purchased their winery. The property (7.4 acres)
with a great slope, wonderful soil for grapes and no frost will provide excellent grapes for producing wine.
The winery is named after their location on the Golden Mile and Canadian's national animal the Beaver.
A true family winery, their son helps with making the unique wines. A comfortable patio provides a spectacular view of the Okanagan Valley.
Signature wine: Unique Vin de Cure' in both Red - Merlot and White – Vidal or Pinot Blanc
Winemakers: Bruno Kelle, Stella Schmidt
Philosophy: Make spectacular wine from hand picked, hand sorted grapes.

LaStella Winery
8123 – 148th Street
Osoyoos BC V0H 1V0
|
|
LaStella was created to be the embodiment of the Tuscan way of life. Simple, yet refined. Humble, yet proud. For us, we are
making more than wine. We are making a statement. We are making our own fun. We are making something different yet reassuringly familiar.
The winery was named after the owners daughter LaStella the name is Italian for little star
LaStella's impressive architecture – including the main building with tower, a patio, wine shop and tasting room – features
Venetian hand-blown light fixtures, Italian herringbone tile, and antique furniture, and a rare blue granite bar top that fairly glows with
its satiny natural hue of navy blue. It is the only waterfront winery in Osoyoos with a dock designed for visitors.
Wines already available include Vivace (a Pinot Grigio), La Stellina (a Merlot rosé), and Allegretto (a Merlot).
LaStella's flagship wine, Maestoso (a Merlot), will be available starting this fall.
In the vineyards they do a blend of organic and biodynamic practices which we call 'non-interventionism'. Along with their
Sister Winery; Le Vieux Pin, they have around 50 acres of small parcel, prime vineyards in Oliver's Golden Mile and Black Sage Bench District
as well as vineyards in Osoyoos Lake District. They have very distinct soil composition between their vineyards from very sandy to high gravel
content to heavy clay with loam that result in very unique and distinctive wines. LaStella is a two level winery that uses gravity to transfer
the wine through its evolution from grape to bottle. After the multiple sorting and quality control, the grapes then slide down a stainless
steel chute to fermentation vats on the next level for a temperature controlled fermentation. They use a combination of small batch temperature
controlled stainless steel fermentors and small open top oak fermentors. They then let their wines comfortably rest in some of the finest French
oak barrels which are kept in their temperature and humidity controlled cellar to ensure optimum aging.
Signature wine: Merlot; Maestoso, merlot Rose LaStellina
Winemaker : Daniel Bontorin
Philosophy: 80% of the wine is made in the vineyard using
low input viticulture Followed by whole berry fermentation with a healthy pre-fermentation maceration

Le Vieux Pin, named after the old pine on the North-West corner of their vineyard. Wines are made in the French tradition
but with the latest in equipment and technique. The focus is to make wine representative of its terroir. Low-input viticulture is the method
we use to get there. Dry farming, minimal fertilizer addition, high-density plantings (6 feet x 3 feet) and low yield will allow vines to
show who they really are deep down to the roots.

The winery is the second phase of a $25 million Nk'Mip project that will see the development of the winery, an all season RV

Groupe Taillan of Bordeaux, France, and Vincor International, based in Ontario, Canada, formed a joint venture
partnership in 1998 to develop vineyards and a small winery dedicated to the production of Canadian VQA wines, that would meet if not
exceed the rigorous standards of their Bordeaux counterparts. Wines would be made from the classic Bordeaux varietals: Merlot,
Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec.
The wine’s name, Osoyoos Larose, reflects the partners’ roots in France and Canada. “Osoyoos”
refers to the location of the vineyards in the Okanagan Valley, on the mountain slopes above Lake Osoyoos. “Larose” refers
to one of Groupe Taillan’s most prestigious estates in Bordeaux, the “deuxième cru” (second growth),
Château Gruaud-Larose, which in itself reflects the centuries-old winemaking traditions of the world famous wine region.
The Osoyoos Larose 60 acre vineyard located in the centre of Canada’s western province, British Columbia, which the
partners started to plant in 1999. Lake Osoyoos lies within the southernmost part of the Okanagan Valley, located on the 49º latitude,
just north of the US/Canada border. The vineyards are ideally located on the western slopes of a north-south ridge facing east. Here they
enjoy intense sunlight, minimal rainfall, and good air drainage. The proximity to the lake provides cooler temperatures in the evening which
promote better photosynthesis for the vines, and a warming effect during the colder winter weather

Stoneboat Vineyard
7148 Orchard Grove LAne
Oliver, BC V0H 1R0

|
This winery is the culmination of 23 years of viticulture by Lanny Martiniuk and his family. In 1979 they bought a
15-acre orchard on the Black Sage with a handshake, eventually converting the entire property to vinifera. Property was
planted with Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris vinifera in ‘92, with Pinot Blanc, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon added later.
They worked as growers for years raising their family. Their first vintage was 2007
The name comes from a flat sledge for carrying stones; originally used to clear the home vineyard of its abundant river rocks.
They named their vineyards as a tribute to the original caretakers Vineyard, who had to clear the land of its rocks in order to cultivate it.
We believe that a stoneboat is representative of qualities that we value: hard work and tradition
Julie and Lanny Martiniuk have three sons. Jay is studying to be a winemaker meanwhile Lawrence Herder is overseeing
the development of their wines. Lawrence and his wife Sharon run their own winery, Herder Winery and Vineyards in Cawston, BC.

Established in 1999, the winery's southwestern Santa Fe style reflects the natural landscape of the Okanagan and its semi-arid climate, where dry grasses, cacti, sagebrush and Ponderosa pines thrive. Perfectly designed for wine making, the winery's unique structure allows gravity to transport the fruit and juice from the crush pad to the cellar, eliminating the effects of pumping. Both stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels are used to create our distinctive handcrafted red and white wines.
The eighteen and a half-acre vineyard site includes
plantings of Gewürztraminer, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Merlot
and the rare Orange Muskat. In the fall of 1999 viticulturist
Valerie Tait joined our team as a vineyard consultant, in order
to improve plant efficiency and fruit quality. The winery produces
5000 cases of wine a year Dulce Mia a sweet dessert wine is fantastic.
The winery is owned by Jack and Jan Fraser
Winemaker: Jason Fraser, consultant, Christine Leroux
Philosophy: careful and passionate, exposes the natural qualities and intricate characteristics of the fruit,
which produces our elegant vintages.
