THE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR'S

AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN NOVA SCOTIA WINE

The award, established by Lt.-Gov. J.J. Grant in 2014, recognizes the exceptional quality of locally sourced and produced wines, and honours the dedication and craft of those in Nova Scotia's vibrant wine industry.;

The award, established by former Lt.-Gov. J.J. Grant in 2014, can include up to five winners.

The award recognizes exceptional quality among locally sourced and produced wines, according to Government House. Winery Association of Nova Scotia and Taste of Nova Scotia members were invited to submit up to three commercially available grape wines with 100-per-cent Nova Scotia content.

-- 2016 Blanc de Noirs, Lightfoot & Wolfville Vineyards, Wolfville
-- 2020 Luckett Barrel Fermented Chardonnay, Luckett Vineyards, Wolfville.

The award is administered by Taste of Nova Scotia and Wine Growers Nova Scotia in partnership with the Office of the Lieutenant-Governor.

2014 Winners

 

Three Nova Scotia wines have been selected to receive the inaugural Lieutenant Governor's Award for Excellence in Nova Scotia Wines.

The award, established by Lt.-Gov. J.J. Grant, recognizes the exceptional quality of locally sourced and produced wines and honours the dedication and passion of those involved with Nova Scotia's wine industry.

Through a blind tasting, an independent panel of experts chose the following wines, in no particular order, as the best among all Nova Scotia wines submitted for consideration:
