She is the eldest of three children of Robert and Diana Granger. The Granger family's agricultural roots go back several generations and for this reason Caroline's parents were determined to expose their children to farming.
In 1997 Caroline moved her family back to the farm on which she grew up after many years away. It was with her children and the future of the family farm in mind that she found the idea of the vineyards so alluring. Their longevity meant that, if she were to succeed in starting this project, it would tie her family to the farm for generations to come. Today, nearly over decade has been invested into her vineyards, and many of the man hours that have helped bring the vision to fruition have come from her family; each of her children pitching in a helping hand wherever it could be used. Her eldest child, Maggie now 24, was her first vineyard helper. The two younger boys, Brandon age 19 and Quinton age 15 have been helping for most of their lives.
She was the first woman from Prince Edward County win Woman in
Business Award and the first woman from the wine industry. Caroline was also the first wine
industry representative to be appointed by the Federal Minister of Agriculture to the board
of Farm Credit Canada- Canada’s leading agricultural bank
