Richibucto River Wine Estate is a beautiful vineyard/ winery located in Mundleville New Brunswick, just outside of Rexton on the Richibucto River
When you think of award winning wines from Canada your mind must go to British Columbia's Okanagan valley or the Niagara Peninsula in Ontario. Maybe even the Similkameen or the
Lake Erie North Shore. Chances are you would think about Nova Scotia. But Would you consider New Brunswick?
Well think again New Brunswick is on the map thanks to wineries like Dunham's Run, Motts Landing and Richibucto River Wine Estate.
At the 2014 All Canadian Championships, Richibucto under winemaker and owner Alan Hudson collected 4 medals
2014 2013 L'Acadie Blanc GOLD
2013 Serenity SILVER
2013 Prairie Star SILVER
2012 River Mist BRONZE
Richibucto was established in 2005 and is a family run winery.
All wines are made from estate grapes. Everything is done on-property, from the growing to the wine-making. The grapes are harvested by hand, processed, and put into tanks until ready to be bottled.
The majority of their grapes are either French hybrids (Marechal Foch, Leon Millot, etc) or Minnesota hybrids (Sabrevois, Prairie Star, Raddison, etc) "Hybrids" are bred to withstand our cold Canadian winters and ripen in a short growing season.
They make a very nice
Port style wine made from Frontenac grapes.
