Fraser Valley Tour
5094 Mount Lehman Rd .
Located in the beautiful Fraser Valley just 3 km off highway 1 in Abbotsford sits the very successful Mt Lehman Winery.
Mount Lehman is situated on an area of upraised land (hence, where the "Mount" comes into the name), that lies between the flat plains of Matsqui Prairie to the east and Glenn Valley to the west . The winery started in 1991 by Vern and Charleen Siemens, converting the family dairy farm into a winery.
Today, Mount Lehman winery has 15 acres planted to a variety of grapes including Pinot noir (our flagship wine), Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Merlot, and a smattering of others. Expansions continues t at Mount Lehman, growing a little each year. In addition to their own farmed fruit grown in the beautiful Fraser Valley, they source grapes from some of the best vineyard sites in the Okanagan Valley. This sourcing combination allows them to take the best of both growing regions for our wines. In some cases, we even combine grapes from the two regions, producing wines beautifully highlighting each flavor.
The winery was busy when we arrived and had a continues flow of people as we (four of us) enjoyed our tasting room experience. Our host Heidi has a natural skill for dealing with the public. Not only was she efficient and knowledgeable. She was charming and fun. Good job Heidi- thank you.
The winery has won its share of awards from the business award of Excellence to the
B.C. Lieutenant Governor
Award for the 2010 Viognier Reserve.
The winery is a strong supporter of
The WRSFV's Warm Zone Program. The program
supports women, children and youth who have experienced violence in their lives.
