Every body in Abbotsford knows Maan Farm.
Started in 1977 by Jawahar and Gurbachan (Grandpa and Grandma) Maan with the help of their three children, Maan Farms began by producing cole crops, but soon shifted to growing the delicious strawberries, raspberries and blueberries for which they became famous.
In 1982, the Maan's opened their first roadside stand on their farm
Today, Grandpa and Grandma Maan are retired, but their son Kris and his wife Devinder continue the proud tradition of Maan Farms, helped by their own children, Preena, Gurleen, Gaurav and Amir. In the last year they added a fruit Winery.
My wife and I took a relaxing drive through Langley Township into Abbotsford to visit the farm If you go down 16th or 8th ave you can a void the cities centres and enjoy the beautiful country
They have a very attractive retail area and wine shop. The staff is very friendly and helpful. After the wine tasting we enjoyed a very nice lunch. The farm is family friendly with a petting Zoo and children's play area. Hay rides, corn mazes and numerous seasonal events are held at the farm
A very nice lady guided me through a tasting session of six wines. They have avery nice label on their bottles. The wines are fresh and young needing more time to develop. I thought the Strawberry Raspberry Blend is their best wine.
My wife and I left the farm with a sense of appreciation for Maan Farms. The staff were very hospital everyone took a moment to say hello and chat a moment. We left with Jams, Honey, Sauces and vegetables and of course the wine.
