Jason Parkes

From a member of a Rock Band to a Winemaker. Destiny! As Jason puts it the band broke down ,he needed a job walked in a winery (hainle) and was hired. two months later.

Jason was born in Kitimat. He went on to led a "spark Punr" rock band called "Glassman" Once resestablsihed in the wine business. He started a new band called Proper Man. After Hainle Jason worked for terrabella group and consultant

Today the list of JPC-related businesses includes The Hatch, Gobsmacked, the , Talking Stories, the Screaming Frenzy label, and the newly opened Black Swift Vineyards. Parkes and crew also bought out the excellent Truck 59 cidery, where Crown & Thieves is being built on the same property.

When it comes to winemaking Jason has been very succesful, he also likes to do things his way. If you want to try some of his unique wines look at tose relesed by The Hatch Winery.

Parkes’ has won three Lieutenant Governor’s awards, and his name comes up frequently as someone who is either putting together his own operations through his company Jason Parkes Customs, or is helping other wineries get their start as a consulting executive winemaker; for example, helping Indigenous World get off to a flying start with their exemplary slate of fine wines.

A riddle. A Mystery. A mystery wrapped in a riddle, wrapped in a vest. A man of the Earth, this most jovial of chaps our lovely Jason might well be the greatest winemaker nobody’s heard of. But we have, and we love him. And we love his wines. And we love that he makes our wines. Jason is refreshing relaxed for a man with such great responsibilities.

Black Swift Vineyards is home to a single vineyard, single varietal series of sensational Swifties; and fun, vibrant, crowd-pleasing Frenzies. Nested above Boucherie Road and the JPC cellar, where the proverbial “magic happens.”

Crown & Thieves is located on Brown Rd next to Truck ’59 Ciderhouse. You can’t miss this winery as it looks like an old ruin castle. Its a rather unique winery .
