2008 Slullywicker Red
Owner and winemaker Dan Sullivan
(Rosehall Run) “is one of the most exciting wineries in Prince Edward County… leading the charge for county wines and showing great examples of what can be done on the Ontario-winemaking frontier.”
The Sullyzwicker series are blended wines created from estate fruit, with the combination changing from vintage to vintage. The 2008 version is made up of Cab Franc, Gamay, Pinot Noir and Syrah. With juicy mouthfeel and lots of ripe fruit, the wine is easy drinking but brings ample complexity, the taste jumps out and claims your taste buds from the very first sip.
Our initial plan was to have one glass with dinner. The bottle now sits empty.. But it provides the opportunity to taste another fine Rosenhall Run wine. We gave Sullyzwicker Red 2008 a 94.
It is wineries like Rosenhall Run owned by Dan and his wife Lynn
on Greer Road in Hillier, just off the Loyalist Parkway in Prince Edward County that establish not only Ontario but Canada as world class producers of quality wines.
