Kelowna, British Columbia

One of the most renowned wineries in Canada, located in the city of Kelowna overlooking Okanagan Lake. CedarCreek Estate Winery was founded in 1986. It was named National Winery of The Year in 2002 and again in 2005; an honour richly deserved. Senator Ross Fitzpatrick is the wineries founder having purchased the original winery called Unicke in 1986

CedarCreek is a destination winery that draws thousands of visitors each summer it excels in providing the most intimate of wine-country experiences. Its hospitality ranges from tours, tastings and fine dining to musical entertainment. The Vineyard Terrace is a seasonal restaurant (open mid June to mid September) with an elegantly casual ambiance and postcard view of the vineyards. Its annual Sunset Concert series features artists from around the world providing guests with magical evenings of wine, food and music while the sun rests gently on Okanagan Lake

John's son Gordo iis the winery's President. Under Gordon's overseeing the winery opened a second location Greta Ranch located across the lake. They also have vineyards near Osoyoos growing Bordeaux Reds and Syrah. The newest member of the team is winemaker Darryl Brooks.

The winery has 43 acres ( 17.4 hectares) which includes the vineyards, tasting room, winery, and Terrace restaurant. The location is amazing and makes a perfect site for a wedding. The tasting bar is open daily offering a complimentary tasting of three wines as well as a selection of Reserve Wines at a charge of $5.00 per tasting.

The Vineyards

CEDARCREEK
Located in Kelowna, CedarCreek was once owned by the pioneering viticulturist J.W. Hughes who planted grapes in the 1930's. Purchased by Senator Fitzpatrick in 1986, it is now home to the winery, wineshop, Terrace Restaurant and 50 acres of Pinot Noir, Merlot, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Riesling and Ehrenfelser. This northerly site, consisting of clay, loam and some sandy soil, is ideally suited for Pinot Noir and the white aromatics.

GREATA RANCH
Situated between Peachland and Summerland, Greata Ranch was established in 1895 by George Greata and was the most prolific peach orchard in the Okanagan due to its vigorous “ratnip” soil. After Senator Fitzpatrick purchased the property in 1994 it’s been planted with 40 acres of Pinot Noir, Merlot, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Blanc.

DESERT RIDGE
Near Osoyoos, Desert Ridge is adjacent to a property where the first table grapes were grown in the late 1930s. Sixty years later, the same stony soil has given way to 25 acres of Bordeaux reds; specifically Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot.

HAYNES CREEK
Located in Osoyoos, Haynes Creek was once grazing land that was converted to soft fruit in the 1940s. Senator Fitzpatrick’s father worked with these growers who delivered extremely ripe fruit destined for the Zenith label at the "Mac & Fitz" packing house. The sandy soils in this hot site are planted with 35 acres of the five Bordeaux reds plus Syrah and Viognier.
