Seaside Pearl Farmgate Winery

We Returned!

At Seaside Pearl Estate winery.
Happiness is Barrel Tasting!

Snow fell as we made our way through the country roads of Langley Township and Abbotsford, towards Seaside Pearl Farmgate Winery. It was Barbara's and my third visit to the winery; Ken and Jane's first. The snow was not going to stop us as we knew excellent wines and a warm greeting was awaiting us. Amazing hospitality plus a beautifully designed chapel style tasting room are highlights of any visit to the winery.

Allison Zimmerman

Allison and David Zimmerman own this treasure, Allison manages the tasting room and David is the winemaker working with Consultant Mark Simpson. Upon entering the tasting room one is made to feel special with Allison's warm greeting. She carefully places wine bottles on the bar labels turned toward you while she relates what the labels stand for. The labels have been designed with the history of the area in mind.

Cheese and Fruit Plate

The tastings include a cheese plate prepared by Allison with cheeses sourced from local farms. Allison carefully explains each wine as you proceed through the tasting at one's own speed. During this visit we enjoyed six fine wines that will be reviewed later on Robert's Selections.

David Zimmerman and Bob Bell April 2017

David came by the tasting room to invite us down to the barrel and lab room, and see the changes since our first visit in April. Barbara and I were impressed and look forward to seeing its completion. The future looks bright for Seaside Pearl!

The new barrel room will provide the Abbotsford area with a unique wine event venue. The four of us were excited to learn that, it is definitely worth the trek from Ladner and Langley to take in the wineries progression, adding an space for events makes it even better

Watch for this Cab Franc, straight from the barrel it was special. Just wait till it's ready for bottling!

Thank you David and Allison for another memorable visit, we will return!
