The Best Wines of 2014

Best of 2015

the wines we have served in our home, our friends homes or tasted in our travels in 2014.

Backyard Vineyards - Fraser Valleys

2013 Gewürztraminer Its the way a Gewürztraminer should be made.. the aroma provides notes of lychee, rose petals and sage, the palate offers a wide assortment of exotic fruit with honeydew, kumquat, lychee, figs and fresh lemon without over powering the wine. Barbara said its a perfect ten I was not so kind.

Blackwood Lane - Fraser Valleys

Amazing ~ 2008 The Reference absolutely a truly great wine vintage after vintage. Living within a few blocks of the winery provided me with numerous chances to taste this wine and introduce numerous friends to their wine. On three occasions we compared vintages. It was very hard to select one over the other.

Noble Ridge

2009 Reserve Mertiage. So Good! a very nice sweet note. A Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon blend, trellised to ensure full ripening and thus the full berry flavours of blueberry, dark cherries and blackberries

2013 Ehrenfelser from the very first taste I knew the wine was special. A nice blend of fruits smooth refreshing perfect patio wine. Peach and Honeysuckle notes Very enjoyable. The 2012 made our list last year.

Tinhorn Creek

2008 Oldfield Series 2 Bench Red - exceptional the way a red should taste

Tinhorn Creek's Bordeaux red, this is a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, each of which was fermented separately and blended later. The wine had 18 months in new French oak and was aged in bottle another 18 months before release. This is a rich and concentrated red, It begins with aromas of mint, black currants and black berries and has flavours of plum, cherry and cassis.

Special events may bring you to the vineyard, but the quality of the wine will bring you back
